If you’re dreaming of a Newport Beach intimate wedding that blends coastal elegance with an easy, relaxed atmosphere, Teresa and Thomas’ day is one you’ll fall in love with. They started the morning in their stunning Newport Beach home that they are creating together, tied the knot at a charming church on Balboa Peninsula, and ended the evening with a warm, laughter-filled dinner at The Winery. From golden-hour portraits by the ocean to heartfelt family toasts, every moment was sweet and meaningful. They had me photograph their day on both digital and film to capture that timeless romantic feeling.
The day began quietly, with the soft light of the Newport Beach morning filtering into Teresa and Thomas’ home. Teresa’s closest friends surrounded her. Zipping her dress, adjusting her veil, fastening her shoes. making sure every detail was perfect. This part of the day I just sat back and watched them come together to help Teresa get ready for their day. They built their day to not be rushed, so they got to slowly get ready together before heading to the church.
Their ceremony took place at a beautiful church on Balboa Peninsula. The light streamed softly through the stained glass windows as they exchanged vows, and took communion together. Friends and family watched with smiles as Teresa and Thomas promised forever to one another. It was simple, heartfelt, and exactly what they had envisioned for their Newport Beach intimate wedding.
Teresa and Thomas were so excited for this part of the day! After the ceremony, we made our way to the beach for portraits. It was a perfect golden evening and the best time for photos. Teresa and Thomas’ love for each other was so evident and they moved so naturally, it made shooting their portraits so much fun. My jaw was dropped the entire time. Their elegant, modern style paired beautifully with the coastal backdrop, making these some of my favorite beach portraits I’ve ever taken. Every embrace, laugh, and glance between them felt authentic, effortless, and deeply romantic.
Rather than a large reception, Teresa and Thomas chose to celebrate with an intimate dinner at The Winery in Newport. The atmosphere was warm and full of love—just family gathered together to honor the couple. Heartfelt toasts had everyone laughing and tearing up in equal measure. In the center of it all was Teresa’s incredible custom cake, topped with fresh raspberries, a sweet ending to an already perfect day. It felt like a scene from a movie, full of joy, closeness, and celebration.
One of the things that made this Newport Beach intimate wedding even more special was how it was documented. In addition to digital photography, the day was captured on both 35mm and 120 film. The texture and warmth of film brought out the timeless, romantic qualities of their day, perfectly complementing the candid and heartfelt moments that defined their celebration.
Teresa and Thomas chose to do an intimate wedding and created a day that was elegant but relaxed, beautiful but unpretentious, and entirely focused on love. The result? A Newport Beach intimate wedding that will feel timeless for years to come.
