Jill and Nathan’s edgy elegant wedding in Southern California took place at the stunning McCoy’s Equestrian Center in Chino Hills. Now I know what you’re probably thinking given the title: “edgy and elegant?!”. But let me assure you; this couple did it right. From the elegant classic cars to the theme of “’Til Death do Us Part” throughout their big day, Jill and Nathan’s celebration was one for the books.
Believe it or not, I grew up just two houses away from Jill. I never would’ve thought that in years to come, I would have the honor of photographing my childhood friend’s wedding day. It feels like not so long ago, we were just 2 little girls dreaming of the day where we became brides — and now, we are both two married women. Enough of the sappiness, here. Let’s get into Jill and Nathan’s edgy elegant wedding…
Ever since I’ve known Jill, she’s always had a smile on her face. Her wedding day was no exception. From the second she started getting herself (and her mama) glam, to the last moments on the dance floor, you couldn’t wipe the smile from her face. As I sit here and write this blog, I am in disbelief that this wedding day was well over a year ago… and I’m still swooning over every detail.
One of my favorite moments from Jill and Nathan’s day was actually their first touch. There’s something so romantic and intimate about sharing just a touch with your partner before walking down the aisle. It’s a beautiful opportunity to connect amongst the busyness of your wedding day, while still leaving an element of tradition and surprise. After Jill and Nathan parted ways, they both entered the ceremony in individual classic cars. The vibes were immaculate.
After an emotional ceremony, followed by romantics and wedding party photos, Nathan actually had a wardrobe change from his Navy dress uniform to the classiest tuxedo I’ve ever seen. I loved watching his demeanor change as he let loose on the dance floor in his tux. (Grooms: this is your sign to have a wardrobe change!!) The rest of the night was spent capturing some rad flash photos in the classic cars and dancing the night away.
Jill and Nathan are two of the most well-suited couples I’ve had the honor of photographing. It truly was such a joy to capture their edgy elegant wedding in Southern California. I can wholeheartedly say their day will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Jill and Nathan, my sweet friends…’Til death do you part. Thank you for trusting me with your memories.
