The excitement for your wedding day builds for so long. And before you know it, it’s over with and you have nothing to do but wait (im)patiently for your wedding photos to be delivered. As a wedding and couples photographer (and recent bride!!!), I know just how giddy you feel throughout the entire wedding process – from beginning to end. When that email hits your inbox that says “Your Gallery Has Been Delivered!”, it’s a feeling quite similar to the arrival of your wedding day. I’m here to help you figure out what to do after you get your wedding photos back to keep the excitement going! Let’s dive in.
You know the whole “romanticize your life” thing? This is your sign to romanticize your wedding photos! Here are a few ways to help you not only enjoy viewing your wedding photos, but how to keep your photos safe for years to come.
First things first, cherish the time getting to see your photos for the first time. Set the stage for a romantic and memorable evening with your SPOUSE (it’s official now!). Light some candles, snuggle up on the couch with a cozy blanket, and get ready to relive the magic of your wedding day. Take this opportunity to reminisce about the joyous moments, the tears of happiness, and the laughter shared with your loved ones. Hook your computer up to your TV and view your photos like a movie. Drink some champagne or your favorite wine.
Once you’ve enjoyed the photos, sent them to everyone on your contact list and shared them all over the ‘gram, make sure the photos are saved safely! One of the biggest mistakes I see from couples is not downloading their gallery before it expires. Your photographer will not keep them on the online gallery forever!
Your photos are way too precious to be left floating in the digital abyss. Here’s how to keep those memories safe for a lifetime:
I know that saving it to all of these different places might seem excessive, but I assure you it’s not! I can’t imagine the heartbreak that would happen if my wedding photos were lost
I don’t know about you, but I’m guilty of not always printing my photos off. However, I still know just how good and nostalgic it feels to hold photos in my hands. It’s all too easy to just think “oh, I can just browse through my photos on the computer”.
I want to encourage you to not let your stunning wedding images get lost in the pixels and screens. Bring them to life by printing your favorite shots and creating a beautiful wedding photo album! Flipping through the pages whenever you want to relive those precious moments is such a sweet way to pay homage to your big day. Set the album on your coffee table for family or friends to enjoy. Some couples look through their album once a year on their anniversary.
Don’t forget to display some of your favorite images around your home! Canvas prints or framed photos in your home are a beautiful daily reminder of your wedding day.
Your wedding day was a celebration of love, and your photographs capture the essence of that extraordinary occasion. Now that you know what to do with your wedding photos, you will be able to ensure that your precious memories are protected, easily accessible, and beautifully displayed. From cozy date nights relishing the digital memories to creating tangible keepsakes, every action you take brings you closer to preserving your love story for years to come. Embrace the joy of your wedding photos, for they are representations of your eternal commitment and the beginning of your happily ever after!
Bonus Tip: You can always reach out to your wedding photographer for further guidance on how to make the most of your wedding photos. Some photographers have preferred vendors for prints and albums – at a great price!
